Registrations are open for the inaugural WA Youth Sail, which encompasses the Westsail Coaching Clinic and WA Youth Championships. This year’s event is hosted by Hillarys Yacht Club, in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean. Westsail Coaching Clinic also will be different to previous years, with a select group of sailors being invited to a Residential Camp at Ern Halliday.

The four-day Westsail Coaching Clinic will be held from Saturday 25 to Tuesday 28 September. Following the Westsail Coaching Clinic, the WA Youth Championships will be raced on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 September.

We welcome all sailors and classes to attend Westsail and the WA Youth Championships.

Green Fleet sailors are also targeted with the program tailored towards sailors who have completed Tackers 3 learn to sail program and have transitioned into clubs Green Fleet squad programs.

Westsail Coaches

WA’s best Coaches are involved in Westsail, with the event’s 30+ year history in WA creating a strong legacy. This year our coaching group will be further bolstered by the addition of a professional development day, held on Wednesday 15 September at Hillarys Yacht Club.

All Westsail Coaches, Australian Sailing accredited Coaches and those aspiring Coaches enrolled in future Sailing Coach Courses are invited to attend. Participant numbers are limited, and attendees are requested to submit an EOI to attend HERE.

Funding Available for Regional Sailors

With thanks to the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation, funding is available for regional sailors to attend the Westsail Coaching Clinic and WA Youth Championships, hosted by Hillarys Yacht Club.

Funding will be shared amongst applicants, upon completion of the following simple form, available HERE.

Please note the closing date for applications is Friday 10 September.

Applicants will be advised of a discount code, in order to register for Westsail and the WA Youth Championships at a reduced fee on Monday 13 September.
