Yachting Western Victoria, established on October 31st, 1959 in Portland, has been at the forefront of promoting sailing and fostering a vibrant yachting community in the Western Region of Victoria and Southeast South Australia. Committed to providing diverse opportunities for sailing enthusiasts, the Association collaborates with clubs across the region, including Portland, Port MacDonald, Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Derrinallum, Stawell, and Colac.

Yachting Western Victoria prides itself on its inclusive nature, catering to a wide range of sailors. The Association places special emphasis on engaging junior sailors and has witnessed a remarkable increase in female participation in recent years. With Olympian Paul Mckenzie hailing from its ranks, the Association boasts multiple world champions in various classes, including the A Class. Its sailors have achieved national and state championships in Fireballs, Taipan, A Class, RL 24, Minnows, and Flying Ants. The Easter Regatta stands out as a testament to the enduring spirit and camaraderie among sailors, with a record-breaking 230 boats participating in 1978.
