Published Wed 12 Apr 2023
This note is to advise Yachting South Australia clubs of the outcome of the Special General Meeting held on Monday, 6th March 2023, where clubs were asked to vote on a Special Resolution to deregister Yachting South Australia Inc.
The resolution was PASSED.
As a result of this:
1. Yachting South Australia will cease to exist.
2. Clubs will need to apply to become Members of Australian Sailing.
3. A SA Regional Advisory Committee of Australian Sailing will be established.
4. Yachting South Australia surplus assets will be transferred to Australian Sailing.
Actions required by clubs:
The affiliation structure of Sailing in South Australia has now changed. The Corporations Act will not allow a clubs membership of Yachting South Australia to be automatically transferred to Australian Sailing Ltd. To facilitate this change clubs are required to complete a simple online process to formally apply for membership of Australian Sailing.
Deregistration of Yachting South Australia will come into effect when confirmation of deregistration is received from the Commissioner of Corporate Affairs.
In order for your clubs members insurance to remain current, Clubs are encouraged to complete this process ASAP.
