Yachting NSW Special General Meeting and Club's Membership of Australian Sailing
Published Tue 11 Dec 2018
This note is to advise NSW clubs of the outcome of the Special General Meeting held on Monday 10th December, where clubs were asked to vote on a resolution to deregister Yachting NSW.
The resolution was PASSED with over 95% support of clubs that cast votes.
As a result of this:
- Yachting NSW will cease to exist
- Clubs will need to apply to become Members of Australian Sailing (link to application form)
- A NSW Regional Advisory Committee of Australian Sailing will be established
- Yachting NSW surplus assets will be transferred to Australian Sailing
Actions required by clubs:
The affiliation structure of Sailing in NSW has now changed. The Corporations Act will not allow a clubs membership of Yachting NSW Inc to be automatically transferred to Australian Sailing Ltd. To facilitate this change clubs are required to complete a simple online process to formally apply for membership of Australian Sailing.
Deregistration of Yachting NSW will come into effect when notification is received from NSW Fair Trading.
In order for your clubs members insurance to remain current, Clubs are encouraged to complete this process by 31 December
