Women’s Australian Match Racing Championships

The South of Perth Yacht Club in Western Australia will host the Australian National Match Racing Championships for Women over four days from 16 – 19 September 2021. The Championships will be held on the confluence of the Canning & Swan rivers, a section of the waterways that the clubs normal start line occupies and a fantastic viewing area as the clubs main Functions, Bar and Restaurant facilities overlook the racecourse.
The clubs BW8's will be used (along with some conscripted craft from other clubs) as the weapon of choice, having been used over a number of years in this type of racing and for training purposes. They have proven to be a reliable and suitable vessel for this type of competition.
Designated as a Grade 3 event expressions of interest to skippers will be based on ranking by World Sailing. The Organising Authority will have the option to include other Skipper/Crew combinations outside these rankings should further top up be necessary. Open to 12 skippers the Regatta will be the only significant event at the venue at the time. International and Australia qualified judges will be on hand to adjudicate during the Regatta.
All in all a great opportunity to come to the West, enjoy the well-appointed club and race course facilities at South of Perth Yacht Club, in what is their 75th year celebrations, to compete fiercely & fairly in a high class match racing event.
