Winners announced at the Tasmanian Sailing Awards 2023
Published Tue 12 Sep 2023
On Saturday 9th September 2023, the Tasmanian sailing community came together at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania for the announcement of the winners for the 2023 Tasmanian Sailing Awards. It was a well-attended event with over 80 people celebrating the finalists and winners of each award.
There were so many stories shared, and in particular, we celebrated our Barranjoey Pin recipient, Peter Attrill. Peter is now 93 years young, and was delighted to be part of the evening bringing his family to help share his award. Peter spoke of his love of sailing for life and how it has been an important part of his family.
Our Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to well-known Tasmanian sailor, Don Calvert. Don is known for his boat, Intrigue, and a lifetime of achievements, sailing commitments and ongoing support to new sailors.
Every club is special in its own way and our sailing community is filled with incredible people who are part of our sport. Thank you to all who attended the evening and made it so enjoyable. Celebrating our sailing community is a way to bring us all together!
Thank you for your support.
