The Westsail Coaching Clinic, part of Youth Sail WA is coming around quickly and will provide an amazing opportunity for sailors to rub shoulders and learn from some of Australia’s best coaches. WAIS Coach, Matt Jerwood will be leading the coaches as the Westsail Coaches Coach with a focus on ensuring our coaches continue to learn and develop, to ensure we continue to develop the champions of the future.

Australian Sailing Team member and Tokyo Olympian, Nia Jerwood, will headline the Optimist class, in which she spent her juniors years sailing at Shelley Sailing Club and Fremantle Sailing Club. Nia after her recent experience at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will bring a wealth of knowledge to the future generation of sailors.

For the first time in the 35 years of Westsail, a Green Fleet Coaching Clinic will be conducted at Hillarys Yacht Club alongside the Westsail Coaching Clinic.

Spanning over the first 3 days of Westsail, from Saturday 25 to Monday 27 September, Green Fleet sailors will be able to enjoy a taster of Westsail and continue to develop their boat handling and racing skills under guidance of Australian Sailing Green Fleet coaches in preparation for the summer sailing season.
