Please see further advice in relation to sailing activities during the current lock down period. The intent of this lock down is to restrict unnecessary movement to prevent the spread of the virus. Please see here for the RADS for Metro and Regional that were released overnight.

Further information can be found here.
Metropolitan Melbourne
There are only five reasons to leave your home (You must stay within 10km of your home)
- shopping for necessary goods and services
- care and caregiving, including medical care or to get a COVID-19 test
- exercise (maximum of 2hrs a day, with either your household or 1 other person)
- authorised work and permitted study
- to get a COVID-19 vaccination
Boating (including Sailing) and Fishing is outdoor recreation permitted. However, within 10km, within 2 hrs, with a mask, with immediate family or one friend, and without requiring a closed venue to be opened. (This being the case, it is assumed that currently open, and covid-safe public and private facilities, can be utilised to access the water).
Boat maintenance and repairs – Boat Maintenance and repair can continue if it is performed by an authorised outdoor worker. They must maintain physical distancing of at least 1.5 meters from others. Self-maintenance (by a non-authorised worker) and repairs should be postponed unless for emergency reasons.
Can I check if my boat is secure - Yes, this should be incorporated into you 2hr exercise window. Where you live outside of your 10km radius , you should ask a family member/friend to check on your boat during this time and only attend if it is for emergency reasons that cannot be postponed.
Regional Victoria
- There are no restrictions on the reasons to leave home but staying COVIDSafe remains important. Face masks are required outdoors where physical distancing of 1.5m cannot be maintained, (you do not need to wear a face mask if exercising strenuously)
- Recreational Sailing may resume, competition sailing is not permitted
- Groups must be limited to 10 people,
- Access to communal Change rooms and toilets is allowed. Club houses to remain closed
- Food and hospitality can reopen for seated service only, with a cap of 50 people per venue, subject to density requirements of one person per 4 square metres.
Mandatory ID Checks
The State Government has confirmed that venues in Regional Victoria now must check identification to confirm whether patrons are from Metropolitan Melbourne. This applies to any venues that are open in Regional Victoria but closed in Metropolitan Melbourne – such as restaurants, non-essential retail, and personal care, for instance.
