Victorian Club Conference Postponed
Published Fri 28 May 2021
As Melbourne moves into a 7-day lockdown, Australian Sailing has made the tough decision to postpone the 2021 Victorian Club Conference. Initially scheduled for Saturday June 5th, the conference will now be held on Sunday August 22nd from 11AM – 5PM at Sandringham Yacht Club.
Please register for the postponed Victorian Club Conference via this link. In order to assist Australian Sailing to keep an accurate track of expected attendees, if you had already registered you need to re-register.
After a turbulent past year in Victoria, Australian Sailing’s CEO Ben Houston has emphasised the importance of working to ensure the conference is held in-person in 2021. He believes that this year’s conference is critical for connecting with Australian Sailing’s Victorian clubs and members.
Despite being planned to occur in the immediate days following lockdown; it is anticipated that the Victorian State Government’s restrictions are likely to limit the number of attendees and may also restrict interstate travel. Australian Sailing emphasises the importance of public health and prioritising community safety during this time.
Australian Sailing would like to thank those who have already registered for the conference and looks forward to re-convening in August. In the meantime, the Victorian sailing community is encouraged to register and attend the online webinars which will run on 3 consecutive Thursdays which begin on June 10th.
