Upcoming Australian Sailing Courses Tasmania

Over the coming months, Australian Sailing in conjunction with local clubs are hosting a number of Officials, Sailing Coach and Instructor and Assistant Instructor courses, giving yourself and your club members the opportunity to up skill and obtain Australian Sailing qualifications.  

We encourage your club to promote these courses to your members, to not only help them build on their own skills and knowledge, but to enable them to give back to your club. 

Details on these upcoming courses can be found below.  

 

Sailing Coach  

This course aims to build the capacity and capability of Sailing Clubs by training and developing individual Sailing Coaches that will be responsible for coaching the next era of sailors/athletes. Focussing on coaching fundamentals, that can be adapted to any specific class, the online component of the course is 6-hours, followed by the 2.5 day face-to-face course.

Dinghy Instructor 

This course aims to teach instructors how to deliver the first three courses of the Dinghy Program including Start Sailing 1, Start Sailing 2 and Better Sailing. Participants will learn and practise effective techniques for theory and practical instructing with continuous feedback and support. 

Dinghy Instructor Course - 13th & 19th – RYCT  

Re-accreditation - 19th – RYCT 

 

Assistant Dinghy Instructor 

This course focuses on the skills that an Assistant Instructor will need to assist a qualified Australian Sailing Instructor in delivering dinghy training courses. This qualification is for those who wish to progress in the sport by helping others who are learning.

National Race Officer 

The National Race Officer Seminar is aimed at educating Australian Sailing members in advanced principles to conduct consistent, fair and safe championship racing. 

National Race Officers play an important role in sailing by enabling higher level competition through assisting the regatta planning process and conducting quality racing for championship events. 

National Race Officer Course – August 21st & 22nd - RYCT 

 

State Race Officer 

The State Race Officer Seminar is aimed at educating Australian Sailing members in advanced principles to conduct consistent, fair and safe championship racing. 

State Race Officers play an important role in sailing by enabling higher level competition through conducting quality racing for championship events. 

State Race Officer Course - August 21st & 22nd – RYCT 

 

Club Race Officer 

The Club Race Officer seminar is aimed at educating Australian Sailing members in the basics to conduct consistent, fair and safe club racing.

Regional Judge 

The Regional Judge course is aimed at educating Australian Sailing members in the principles to Chair a Protest Committee and deliver fair and consistent protest procedure. Regional Judges play an important role in sailing by enabling better quality decision to be made on a consistent basis at club racing and local regattas.
