Understanding Participation Programs
Published Fri 10 Nov 2023
12 months ago, Australian Sailing released the Participation Programs which provide clubs and class associations with the coaching frameworks and tools to deliver programs across the 3 levels of; Green, Intermediate and Advanced, assisting with developing members skills and knowledge beyond their initial learn to sail activities.
The Participation Programs are key to facilitating and growing membership, as they focus on retaining and developing sailors, coaches, and volunteers, and are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing clubs and class associations to adapt to how people choose to participate.
We encourage clubs and class associations to consider these programs as a key to retention and the development of their members. The Programs include progressive stages of learning and development for the sailor both on and off the water and are delivered by club and class coaches. There are no fees for affiliated clubs and classes to deliver any of the Programs.
Australian Sailing looks forward to supporting your club or class association in setting up its Participation Programs for this season and preparing and delivering them in the months ahead.
