Tough Selection
Published Wed 02 Oct 2019
30 teams from ten nations around the world applied for the 10 spots in the 2020 Warren Jones International Youth Regatta, from January 27 to 31, 2020. This is the fourth time this event has been held in Perth Waters and is being hosted by the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.
Will Boulden (RFBYC), bridesmaids for the past two years, is set to improve from their crushing defeat at hands of Netherlands Jelmer van Beek last year. Fellow sailor Ethan Prieto-Low (RFBYC) will ensure inner club rivalries are strong. Harry Price and Tom Grimes (CYCA) join international entries of Nick Egnot-Johnson (NZ), Matt Whitfield (GBR), Aurélien Pierroz (FRA), Rocco Attilli (ITA), Emil Kjaer (DEN) and Johanna Bergqvist (SWE).
They will be joined by the highest placed eligible team from the Colin Mullins Youth Regatta and JESS Match Cup to be held in January 2020 to fill the final two places.
