Discover Sailing Day 2019 took place over the weekend at many Sailing clubs across the country, giving their local communities a taste of what Sailing has to offer.

Adelaide Sailing Club was one of the clubs that took part hosting more than 50 kids and adults through the day with great success on the water, a free sausage sizzle and a fun picnic atmosphere. 

"We were absolutely thrilled with the interest in the day. The laughter on the water was just great. We had the tiny but determined children of current adult sailors and also those kids and adults that had never experienced the sport. We think it was a winner!" said Peter Royle Commodore Adelaide Sailing Club

Discover Sailing Day is part of Australian Sailing’s Discover Sailing program, which was launched in 2012 and designed to encourage more people to get in boats, out on the water and enjoying the benefits of sailing. There are a number of clubs that will host their Discover Sailing event on an alternate date across the coming weeks that can found via this link
