Social media research and recommendations for Sailing Clubs

Shunt Applied Creative an authority and thought leader in social media analytics for the Australian sports industry have just published research and recommendations around optimum social posting for Sailing Clubs in Australia. Based on the findings recommendations are as follows:
What day should I post?
• The most popular day for sailing clubs to post is Saturday (20.90% of all posts), followed by Sunday (16.70% of all posts)
• Perhaps not surprisingly the highest level of Facebook engagement (total reactions, comments & shares) is on Saturday (9,723 engagements), followed by Sunday (7,762 engagements)
• The most efficient and effective (days that achieve the highest average engagement per post) days to post are Tuesday (52.44 engagements per post) and Thursday (53.26 engagements per post). So if you’re short of time give this a go!
How many words should I post?
• The most popular number of words for sailing clubs to use in a post is 20-49 (a whopping 31.60% of all posts), followed by 50-99 (21.00% of all posts)
• Perhaps not surprisingly the highest level of Facebook engagement (total reactions, comments & shares) was for 20-49 word posts (14,067 engagements), followed by 50-99 (11,003 engagements)
• The most efficient and effective (word count that achieves the highest average engagement per post) is actually 100+ words used (60.63 engagements per post) followed by 50-99 words (52.39 engagements per post). So if don’t know how many words to use, give this a go!
