Sensational New and Favourite Aussie Bands Set to Rock the Stage at 2024 Festival of Sails
Published Fri 01 Dec 2023
Hailed as currently one of Australia’s best live acts and with critics around the world stamping their hit record as ‘one of the finest of the year’, rock band ‘Body Type’ is set to take centre stage as the headline act for the 2024 Festival of Sails.
The four-piece rock band from Sydney was shortlisted for the prestigious Australian Music Prize for their album ‘Everything is Dangerous But Nothing’s Surprising’ which was described as ‘a tightly coiled collection of post-punk tracks that tackled industry chauvinists, sexual power and rage.’
On their first trip to Geelong, the raw and punchy quartet will be taking to the main stage of Australia’s oldest yachting regatta on Saturday, January 27.
Also entertaining the crowds will be Aria winners and one of Australia’s fan favourite acts ‘Southern Sons’. Best known for their top ten smash hits ‘Heart in Danger’, ‘Hold Me In Your Arms’ and ‘You Were There’, the Aussie rock legends will be performing on Friday, January 26.
And rounding out just some of the musical highlights will be Australia’s best INXS cover band, and sell-out rock favourites ‘The Australian INXS Show’, who will get the party pumping late on Saturday January 27.
Festival of Sails Chairman, Paul Buchholz says this year’s entertainment lineup for the Festival is one of the best they’ve seen for years.
“We have three days of fabulous entertainment with dozens of performers entertaining the crowds, from well-known favourites right through to our Emerging Artists competition.”
“And of course, we also have our family-friendly stars like the Royal Australian Navy Band and the Mik Maks, so something to suit just about everyone,” he says.
“The Festival has a reputation as a great fun party destination and given the musical line-up we have, I am sure that this year – yet again – we’ll see the crowds, up dancing, singing and having a seriously great time!”
