Save the Date and Expression of Interest – Tasmanian Youth Championships incorporating a Two Day Coaching Clinic
Published Wed 17 Jun 2020
The annual Tasmania Youth Championships typically held at the end of February is moving to new dates. The Tasmania Youth Championships will now include a two-day coaching clinic leading up of the Tas Youth Championships, the dates for the Coaching Clinic are 8 – 9 October 2020 followed by the TAS Youth Championships 10 – 11 October 2020.
Chris Jones – Regional Manager for Tasmania, said by moving the dates for the Tasmanian Youth Champ to October school holidays allows the state to incorporate a coaching clinic beforehand. Tasmanian sailors can use this event as a warm-up event for class state or national titles. An intense period of sailing over four days provides an excellent opportunity for sailors coming together to train, compete and socialise at the start of the season.
The coaching clinic is open to all sailors from the green fleet to scholarship holders in the Tasmania Institute of Sport (TIS); there will be something for everyone.
To align with the Coaching Clinic and the Tasmanian Youth Championships, AS will be organising an opportunity for members of the sailing community to gain their Sailing Coach qualification for more information or to register for the course >> Click Here. All coaches who hold the AS Sailing Coach qualification will be invited to attend a Profession Development before the Coaching Clinic.
An Expression of Interest (EOI) is now open for clubs in Tasmania to express their interest for hosting the Tasmania Youth Championships that incorporates a two-day coaching clinic. The EOI closes on the 3 July 2020, to register an EOI for the event >> Click Here
