The 61st Sabot National Championship and Sabot Week were held at Drummoyne Sailing Club from the 27th December, 2024 to the 3rd January 2025. Three Lane Cove boats participated in the regatta – Oscar Barnes in Usual Suspect, Blake Watson in Eat My Bubbles and Lachlan Frearson in Manta Ray.

Racing was competitive with 70 boats competing in the event and varied conditions testing the skills of all of the sailors.

Blake was the best placed boat from Lane Cove in the Nationals, finishing 20th overall, with a top finish of 13th place. Lachlan also sailed well, however his time at the regatta was cut short by a family holiday. Oscar competed in Sabot Week where he consistently improved, impressively finishing in 2nd place in the final race. Well done Oscar, Blake and Lachlan!
