SA Club Conference

Published Mon 04 Jul 2022

The 2022 SA Club Conference was held on Sunday 26th June at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia.

It was an enjoyable day with an attendance of 31 people representing 12 SA Clubs.

The Club Conference saw the introduction of the new South Australian General Manager, Kylie Baker. Kylie was able to share a general update on sailing in South Australia, as well as introduce Australian Sailing CEO, Ben Houston, who updated all attendees on Australian Sailing and its direction more broadly. Australian Sailing Board Member Shevaun Bruland was also in attendance, speaking on the Australian Sailing Strategic Plan that is designed to get more people on the water, in more ways, more often.

Yachting South Australia President Kirsty Dunn presented on YSA De-registration and discussed the transition to a Regional Advisory Committee in South Australia.

Presentations on Club Support, Growing Club Participation, Safety, National Integrity Framework, and Personal Accident Insurance created a group discussion and the opportunity for clubs to voice their opinons.
