The Swan River Etchells Fleet is proud to announce that the International Etchells Class 2024 Etchells World Championship will be sailed on the waters off Fremantle, Western Australia from 15th March to 22nd March 2024. As a precursor to the Worlds the WA State Championships will be held on the 17th and 18th February as will the pre-worlds Bill Steele Regatta from 11th to 14th March.
 
The Fleet has entered a unique four-way Memorandum of Understanding with Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club as the Organising Authority, Royal Perth Yacht Club as a Supporting Club and Fremantle Sailing Club as the Host Club and Venue which MOU describes each party’s benefits and responsibilities. The added strength of the MOU is the high level of cooperation, trust and alignment between the Clubs and the Class.
 
Post Covid Interest in the Regatta is strong with plenty of registrations from competitors and volunteers being received already including many current and past State, National and World Champions booking their flights. Excitingly many new boats are being prepared for the journey Down Under and across the Nullarbor.

The Notice of Race for the 2024 Etchells World Championship is now available and entry is open via the website.  Sailing instructions will follow shortly, as will confirmation of the appointment of the Race Officer, Measurer, International Jury and Mediator.
