The Summer Universiade, welcomes the world’s finest university sailors to compete in Naples, Italy from the 8^th – 12^th of July.

The Summer Universiade attracts thousands of student–athletes from across the globe to compete together, producing one of the largest multi-sport events in the world.

With this years’ event approaching quickly we are looking to put together a team to represent Australian sailors in the event. The team needs to be a mixed team with a maximum number of 5 people per boat, with 2 male and 2 female amongst the crew.

The category of the Summer Universiade is called match racing which means that two boats go head to head in a set of races to decide which boat has the better crew competing.

The Skipper is required to register on behalf of the team with Australian Sailing by completing the EOI on behalf of UniSport Australia.

As a minimum, to be eligible for to compete at the Summer Universiade you will need to meet the following criteria:

• Be at least 17 years of age and no more than 25 years
• Be an Australian citizen and have an Australian passport
• Be enrolled in and proceeding towards at least a diploma at an accredited higher education institution

If selected to represent Australia at the Summer Universiade the cost is $5,500 per person, payable by the individual. This cost covers:

• Return flights to Italy from Australia
• Accommodation
• Food
• Athletes village
• Uniforms
• Entry fee*

* Additional $1,500 is required for damage fee. Refund of damage fee will be returned if no damaged has been caused.
