QLD Sport and Recreation Return to Play Guide
Published Fri 15 May 2020
Dear Clubs,
As mentioned in this afternoon’s webinar, we have finally received further information from the Queensland Government. The Queensland Government have established a website which features up-to-date information via www.covid19.qld.gov.au/returntoplay
The website features a guidebook, fact sheets, frequently asked questions and a checklist for sport.
The guidebook especially will act as a single point of information to better understand the easing of restrictions and what that means for all of us at each stage.
We encourage you all to get familiar with the site, remembering that the resources will be updated regularly as we move through the stages and to reflect the latest health advice.
If you have any questions, please contact me before going directly to the Sport and Recreation team as we can give advice specific to our own Covid Safe Plan.
The advice for Stage 1 remains the same. Organised sporting activities are not permitted.
Early next week we will examine all the information and will follow up with direct queries to the Queensland Department of Sport and Recreation and provide clarity to clubs at Thursday’s scheduled webinar on the requirements for clubs to resume activity in Stage 2 (12th June).
If it is clear that by next Thursday the requirements are not suitable for our sport we will be investigating the options for exemptions.
Please if you have any questions or comments, direct them to me in the first instance so we can ensure all of our sailing community receives the best possible information.
We look forward to seeing more sailing activity resume as we work through this phased re-introduction safely, over the next few months.
Regards
Ben Callard
