Ocean Racing WA General and Sailing Administration Manager

ORWA Inc., the new West Australian owner’s association tasked with working for owners and with yacht clubs is seeking to employ an experienced sailing administrator for approximately 50 days per annum. Either located at a yacht club, from their home office, or from another business premise the successful candidate will work with the Directors to collaborate with owners and clubs to help execute the Board’s strategy.

We are ideally seeking a dynamic person with sailing administration experience or is well versed in the demands of both regatta and offshore administration and campaigns. If you are seeking a new challenge, with significant responsibility along with the ability to identify what needs to be done and be able to get it done in a timely and efficient manner, this role could be the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to take the next step in your career.

The above, combined with the ability to work independently, to lead the board and other specialised sub-committees to service both our yacht owners, yachts clubs, and liaise with our official partners is paramount to success. As the general manger, it will be crucial that the successful candidate can create and work with teams, across a variety of areas.

You will also need to bring with you:

-Experience in general administration.
-Ideally sailing and AS safety administration experience.
-Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
-Disciplined with the strength to prioritise multiple tasks from diverse stakeholders.
-Excellent written communication skills.
-Manage meetings and associated documents and records.
-Social media and marketing expertise.
-Proficient in managing websites.
-Driver’s license, skippers’ ticket, and marine radio operators (LROCP) licence preferred.
-Ability to lever available technology for efficient outcomes.
-Commitment to strong governance, fairness, and equitable outcomes for clubs and owners.
-Liaise with other state and national sailing bodies.
