Several Regions in NSW are now termed "General Areas"

Which areas are classified as general areas? A map detailing the regional are rural areas of NSW with limited restrictions is available HERE.

Note: if a person who lives in a general area goes to a stay-at-home area or an area of concern after 12.01 am on 11 September, the person will be subject to the direction that they can only leave home with a reasonable excuse for 14 days after they were last in the stay at home/area of concern.

What are the rules for Sailing in General Areas?

Clubs in these areas will need to update their COVID-19 Safety Plan - https://www.nsw.gov.au/form-master-page/covid-safety-plan/outdoor-events-covid-19-safety-plan AND get a NSW Govt QR code for the clubhouse

You can take part in exercising and outdoor recreation activities that comply with the Public Health Orders and are not held in a venue required to be closed.

The following gathering limits and rules apply in General Areas:

  • For COVID-19 safe outdoor public gatherings (outdoor events with a COVID-19 safety plan) – the limit is 50 persons
  • For other outdoor gatherings – the limit is 20 persons
  • Masks are not required at any outdoor gathering
  • Indoors - Masks must be worn and capacity limits apply
