New One-Day Instructor Endorsements

Published Thu 27 Mar 2025

Australian Sailing have recently developed a more streamlined process for accredited instructors in Dinghy, Keelboat, Powerboat, and Windsurf programs to gain accreditation in an additional Australian Sailing program. This new One-Day Endorsement option allows you to broaden your qualifications without unnecessary barriers to doing so.

How It Works

If you're already an accredited instructor in one program, you can now complete a short e-learning course followed by just a 1-day practical course delivered by a Senior Instructor to gain accreditation in another program.

  • E-Learning: Complete a short online course designed to cover key aspects of the new program.
  • Practical Course: Attend a hands-on, one-day session where you’ll focus on instructing techniques, on-water skills, and safety management for the new Program.

Eligibility & Preparation

To be eligible for the One-Day Endorsement, you must already hold at least one Australian Sailing Program instructor qualification. You can check your current qualifications through your Australian Sailing Profile and you can check that you meet the course requirements here.

Before attending the practical course, ensure you're fully prepared by reviewing the required skills and demonstrating them confidently. The practical day is not for practising, but to demonstrate your proficiency. You can check the specific preparation details and required skills on the Face-to-Face Instructor Endorsement page.

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion of both the e-learning and practical components, you will gain accreditation to deliver the new program. Your updated accreditation will automatically reflect on your Australian Sailing profile once all requirements are met.
