Javelin Association of WA - Presentation Evening
Published Mon 12 Jul 2021
Last weekend the Javelin Association of WA held their State Presentations Dinner. After a late venue change, the dinner was held at Little Creatures. Presentations acknowledged placings in the Valmadre Offshore Race 1. Congratulations to “Joanne” sailed by Bill Devine and Dan Moore in first, “Phlem buoyant” sailed by Ben Mawson and Nelly Sadler in second and a valiant effort for “Valiant” in third with Tim and Greg Vance.
Whilst the presentations concluded for one fleet, the Fremantle Sailing Club kicked off their Valmadre Offshore Winter Series. 32 yachts across two fleets and two divisions sailed the Arlene Race, being the first of the four-race series. The next events are the Ensign (July 10), Mayflower (July 24) and Voladora (August 7). “Enterprise Next Generation” of Andrew Nuttman and Anthony Kirke took out IRC Division 1 with 2019-2020 newly crowned Siska winners “Atomic Blonde” of Simon Torvaldsen narrowly beating “Skallagrigg” of Sean Wallis and Simon Cunningham by just six seconds in IRC Division 2. Noel Murphy aboard “Southern Star” and Alan Anderson aboard “ZUBEN'UBI” won PHS Division 1 and 2 respectively.
