Introducing Melanie Peasey

Melanie Peasey has recently joined the Safety, Rules and Representation team and comes to us with a background in sailing keel boats and off the beach classes.
She started sailing at a young age in Sabots on the Brisbane river, graduating to 420’s and Hobie 16’s.
She has competed in most of the East Coast Yacht races, including the Brisbane to Gladstone for 10 years straight.
In her career Melanie has always had something to do with working in the Marine industry, having 20 + years working in Chandlery’s to holding the position of Principal at a Maritime College.
Her experience working with commercial mariners at the college is where she became passionate about increasing the culture and education of staying safe onboard vessels.
Melanie in based in the Brisbane office in Manly and is looking forward to working with the various committees, clubs and classes that contribute to Australian Sailing.
