ILCA Oceania expand the solidarity program

ILCA Oceania (formerly Oceania Laser Class Association) Announce ‘Solidarity’ a program to assist young women into competive sailing.

Building on the successful launch of the Australian model in 2023, ILCA Oceania are expanding the program to cover NZ & the Pacific Island nations. Ten young women from the region will have the opportunity to be coached & compete at a world class championship.

Young female sailors, three from Pacific Island nations, one from NZ & one from each of the six Australian states will be selected to compete in the 2024 Oceania & Australian championships in Adelaide.

The sailors, selected by their local ILCA district, will be given free entry to this 6-day event. They will have the use of a free charter boat & a qualified ILCA coach will assist them for the duration of the regatta. Team clothing & merchandise will be supplied by the sponsor. Please note that applications for this program need submitted by October 1st.

ILCA sailing is an Olympic sport for young women. It opens the opportunity for travel & friendships. Sailors who choose the ILCA class can access support from their local ILCA district & compete in championships around the world.
