Level 7 - level A manager (Weekdays $37.99, Saturdays $45.59, Sundays $53.18)
About the Role
We are seeking a Head Sailing Instructor to lead our Training Academy, ensuring high-quality instruction and a structured development pathway for sailors of all levels. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who is passionate about growing the sport, fostering new talent, and maintaining a fun and safe learning environment.
You will work closely with our Pathways & Participation Coordinator, who manages day-to-day administration, allowing you to focus on coaching, program development, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Training Academy, ensuring structured and engaging coaching programs.
- Design and implement training pathways that cater to beginner and intermediate sailors while ensuring safety and enjoyment.
- Manage and mentor a team of instructors to deliver high-quality sailing programs.
- Write and manage instructor rosters, ensuring efficient staff allocation and program coverage.
- Work alongside the Pathways & Participation Coordinator, providing input on program administration, feedback collection, and participant progress tracking.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of club boats and training equipment, ensuring all assets are in good working order.
- Ensure all training activities align with Australian Sailing guidelines and safety standards.
Key Requirements
- Experienced Australian Sailing Dinghy Instructor qualifications (RYA and International Qualifications can be converted).
- Powerboat Handling Certificate
- Strong team leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Knowledge and experience in boat maintenance and equipment care.
- Ability to design and implement structured training sessions and programs.
- Working with Children Check
- First Aid & CPR certification.
- Driver’s License
Desired Requirements
- Australian Sailing Keelboat Instructor (or ability to obtain)
- Australian Sailing Powerboat Instructor (or ability to obtain)
