Geographe Bay Race Week

Published Tue 11 Feb 2020

Less than a fortnight to go until the start of the Club Marine 2020 Geographe Bay Race Week. Venture a little further south for a week of fun from Saturday February 15. Geographe Bay is an ideal body of water which incorporates the township of Capel all the way to Cape Naturalist and includes the famous 1.8-kilometre-long Busselton Jetty.

An international entry, due to fly in next week, has chartered a local yacht as the event continues to draw the crowds. Rear Commodore of Race Week, Mr Nigel Chesterfield-Evans released this week that full revamp of the courses will greet competitors this year to provide closer action for all to follow. Busselton is too far to sail your boat? Local skippers still have vessels for charter or take an easier approach with one of the many skippers looking for crew.

A treat this year for our hard-working volunteers with the luxurious ‘Black Swan’ vessel of Steve Wall as the centrepiece and start boat for the entirety of the event. However you choose to do GBRW 2020, visit gbyc.com.au for all the details.
