Australian Sailing VIC Sailing Summit wrap up
At the recent Victorian Sailing Summit held at Royal Brighton Yacht Club, enthusiasts and experts gathered to discuss the future of sailing. The room was full, with over 100 club representatives from across Victoria.
Here's a quick recap:
Australian Sailing Update
- We got the lowdown on the latest achievements, upcoming events, and future plans for sailing in Australia.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy
- There was a strong focus on making sailing more inclusive. Strategies to ensure everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of background, were front and center.
Growing Participation
- Exciting programs and campaigns were presented to attract new sailors and keep current ones engaged.
On the club front, we heard some inspiring stories:
Hobsons Bay Yacht Club Mentor Program
- This program is all about supporting new sailors and building a strong community. They shared some great success stories and tips for other clubs to follow.
Sabrettes
- The Sabrettes are making waves by promoting sailing among women. Their events and activities are tailored to encourage more female participation.
Overall, the summit was all about enhancing the sailing experience and growing the community. It was a fantastic blend of national updates and grassroots initiatives, aiming to make sailing more inclusive and active for everyone.
