Have you registered? Is your Club/Class being represented?
All Club and Class Association Flag officers, Presidents, key officials and management are encouraged to attend.
The Sailing Summits bring together Clubs and Classes from across the state and are a great way to engage with the sailing community's decision makers and Australian Sailing.
Hear from industry experts and learn from your peers as they share success stories and best practice ideas that can help develop skills, capacity and further improve your club and class association.
It would be great to have every club in Tasmania represented so that we can help you support your club.
Entry to the Sailing Summit is free, however, places are limited, and registration is required. Registration link: https://www.sailing.org.au/events/172512/
When: Saturday 27th May,
Time: 9:00 for a 9:30 start until 17:00, followed by an hour of socialising.
Where: Bellerive Yacht Club.
Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
TAS Regional Advisory Committee - Call for nominations 23/24
With the deregistration of Yachting TAS in 2020, the Australian Sailing board established a TAS Regional Advisory Committee to take its place. This Regional Advisory Committee is a committee of Australian Sailing and is elected by TAS clubs.
A call for nominations for Representatives is now open with three committee positions vacant and three appointed members positions vacant. Each Member Club is entitled to nominate one (1) person, who is a financial member of the Member Club. Nominations close on 15th June.
Regional clubs are encouraged to nominate a member as meetings can be accessed online. Clubs are also encouraged to nominate female members to increase the gender balance of the committee.
Please access the nominations form using this link.
Assistant Instructor and Instructor Courses in TAS
We have had two very successful Dinghy Instructor courses in the last month, one being held by Tamar Yacht Club and the other at Sandy Bay Sailing Club. Congratulations to all the new Assistant Instructors and Dinghy Instructors and I am sure that you will be kept busy at your sailing clubs.
Due to demand, we have organised another Instructor’s course in the south at the RYCT. These courses are all being run during the ‘out of sailing’ season so that they do not clash with club racing and events. It also gives sailing clubs time to upskill their members ready for the 2023/24 sailing season.
If you love sailing, being with people and would like to teach sailing, this is for you! Click on the links below to register.
