Australian Sailing TAS Sailing Summit
Australian Sailing is excited to launch the 2023 Sailing Summits.
All Club and Class Association Flag officers, Presidents, key officials and management are encouraged to attend.
The Sailing Summits bring together Clubs and Classes from across the state and are a great way to engage with the sailing community's decision makers and Australian Sailing.
Hear from industry experts and learn from your peers as they share success stories and best practice ideas that can help develop skills, capacity and further improve your club and class association.
It would be great to have every club in Tasmania represented so that we can help you support your club.
Entry to the Sailing Summit is free however places are limited and registration is required.
When: Saturday 27th May,
Time: 9:00 for a 9:30 start until 17:00, followed by an hour of socialising.
Where: Bellerive Yacht Club.
Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided

Teams Racing in Tasmania
The Secondary Schools Teams Racing State Championship was recently held at Sandy Bay Sailing on April 1&2. With over 100 students in 14 teams from 9 different schools, it was a busy and exciting couple of days. Congratulations to all competitors and thank you to the wonderful volunteers. The Hutchins School Gold team finished on top, closely followed by The Friend’s School Red team. Collegiate finished as the best All Girls team. These three teams are now qualified to race in the National Championship in July at Goolwa, Sth Australia.
It would be great to get a Northern Tas Teams Racing program started and we are looking to have some sailing days later in the year. Are you a sailor who enjoys working as a team?
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF THIS, as a sailor or volunteer, please email me, felicity.allison@sailing.org.au
TAS Youth Sail 2023 – Put this in your calendar!
Foundation Coach free online course
If your club has Instructors who are ready to go onto coaching, this is the course for them. It is an AS requirement for all Instructors of Green Fleet and above to be coaches. This free course is the first step to becoming a fully accredited coach.

E-Learning
The Australian Sailing myLearning portal has a catalogue of free and useful online courses created by Australian Sailing and Play By The Rules that could benefit clubs, members, volunteers, administrators, and instructors.
A great course for your safety boat drivers is Mark Laying Course and if you prefer to be on shore the Protest Committee Member – Judge Level 1.
