Queensland Regional Managers Update – March 2022 – SPECIAL FUNDING FOR CLUBS EDITION.

Disaster Funding Arrangement (up to $20 000)

Applications for grants of up to $20,000 through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) opened today. Emergency DRFA grants are designed to help sporting and active recreation clubs hit by extreme weather to recover and get back on their feet.

Sport and Recreation Disaster Recovery Program (up to $5000)

The State Government has initial grants of up to $5,000 available to help eligible clubs with cleaning, e.g. skip hire, cleaning supplies, electrical safety checks, PPE gear, and replacing damaged equipment. Clubs can also apply for up to $5,000 in State grant funding to reimburse invoices already paid for flood recovery.

Active Clubs (up to $2000)

The Active Clubs program opened in February and closes 23 March. Active Clubs provides funding of $2,000 to support volunteers and provide flexible and safe physical activity opportunities to increase sport and recreation participation.

Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) Recovery grant (up to $50,000)

For those requiring further funding, the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) Recovery grant can provide $50,000 grants for small businesses and not-for-profit organisations. Those who qualify can use the funding to clean-up, repair or replace damaged infrastructure or equipment, or cover other costs associated with the recovery process.

What does your club need? Up to $100,000 up for grabs!

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is about to kick off it’s “Super Round” offering grants of up to $100,000 for Queensland Organisations and Clubs.

The Super round opens 21st February and closes 31st March. 

Applications are prioritised by the committee in this order, where 1 has the highest priority:

  1. Items/facilities directly affected, damaged or destroyed by a declared natural disaster in the last 2 years
  2. Equipment or facility improvements
  3. Buses, cars, caravans, boats, tractors, trailers, large mowers, motorbikes and similar items
  4. Community events, training, workshops, festivals, publications and website development
  5. Organisations that have received more than $15,000 from the GCBF within the last 2 years
