Discover Sailing Days a Huge Success
Tinaroo Sailing Club, Keppel Bay Sailing Club and Whitsunday Sailing Club all hosted Discover Sailing days since my last report. They introduced over 100 people to the sport of sailing with opportunities to help these new people into a learn to sail course or club membership. There are so many benefits to hosting a Discover Sailing Day. If you need help, there are some great resources (see the link below) and any of the team will be happy to help and support you.

Here is a Club News item that we think you should be talking about at your club:
Get youth more involved in your club
Australian Sailing has published a suite of resources to help you and your club when setting up a Youth Committee for the first time.
These include a guide on ‘How to Start a Youth committee at your Sailing Club’, including tips on how to get started, recommended committee sizes, meeting times, and providing a mentor. Other resources include a template on what a Terms of Reference for the Youth Committee should cover, so everyone knows early on what is expected, how often to meet and what is expected in terms of behaviour at meetings.
