AMSA

Simplified Risk Assessment Guide

Alongside work to review the whole commercial vessel safety management system approach, AMSA has also developed a new simplified risk assessment guide for a range of small domestic commercial vessel operations, including tourism vessel operations and guides. This guide will take operators through four simple steps to identify the unique hazards of their operation, the risks associated with those hazards, how to control those risks, document and review them.

Commercial vessel simplified risk assessment guide

Have your say on commercial vessel safety management

Clubs who own or operate small commercial vessels are invited to provide feedback to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) on their experience with developing and implementing safety management systems for their operations. AMSA is looking to draw on the practical experience of operators, gained over years of working on the water.

A survey is being conducted which will help shape a future, simplified approach to safety management for small commercial vessel operators under the National Law.
