EXTENDED: Water Relief Grants for Sporting Clubs

The Water Relief Grants for eligible sporting clubs has been extended until September. To support those clubs that have significant water bills to pay, the State Government will provide financial assistance towards water and sewerage bills issued between April and June 2020.

The grant is being funded from the Community and Jobs Support Fund as part of the State Government’s broader $650 million Jobs Rescue Package.

Eligible sporting clubs/associations will receive a grant equivalent to 50% of the water and sewerage bill issued between 1 April and 30 June 2020.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this grant, a sporting club must:

  • Be an incorporated sporting club in South Australia that maintains facilities and grounds* that require significant water usage.
  • Have annual grouped Australian payroll of less than $1.5 million, and not be entitled to a payroll tax waiver under the State Government's COVID-19 support measures.
  • Be responsible for paying a SA Water (or other water supplier) water and sewerage bill directly or explicitly required to pay for water as part of its lease arrangements e.g. the club makes a specific water contribution as part of its lease to the lessor.
  • Applications for this grant will be open until Wednesday 30 September 2020.
