Australian Sailing qualified instructors and sailing coaches have the responsibility to keep their qualification active. The qualification active status will enable Discover Sailing Centres to allocate you as the instructor for their Australian Sailing accredited courses. In addition only with an active qualification instructors and coaches will be covered under the Australian Sailing insurance (further insurance information can be found HERE).

To ensure that instructor and coach qualifications remain active the below requirements have to be fulfilled:

• Paying the yearly renewal fee.
• Holding a current HLTAID003 –First Aid or higher.
• Holding a current Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
• Holding a current Boat / RST / Marine licence if you are a Dinghy, Powerboat or Windsurfing Instructor.

It is important to ensure all the pre-requisites listed above are correctly showing on your mySailor profile.  To check please follow the below instructions:

1. Log into your mySailor profile HERE.
2. Under ‘My Qualifications’ click on ‘Details’ to view your qualification and pre-requisite details.
3. If any of your pre-requisite is missing or shows as expired, click HERE to upload your current documentation. Australian Sailing will then verify your document and if appropriate update your profile.
4. If your renewal date is in the past it means your latest renewal invoice has not been paid. To access and pay this invoice go back to your mySailor dashboard and click on ‘Payment History’ under ‘Membership Status’. If there is not an outstanding renewal invoice please contact training@sailing.org.au.
