Gove Boat Club

The Club

The Gove Boat Club is based in East Arnhem Land, NT. The club is located on the shores of Melville Bay and includes a waterfront campground, licenced bar & bistro, beer garden and liveaboard facilities. The club has some casual bar staff and a full time Operations Manager so you will be part of a small team.

The Role

The club is seeking a seasonal instructor to oversee the sailing & training throughout the Dry Season (April-Oct). They have 6 x Ozi Optis, 10 x Lasers & 4 x FarEast19R that are utlised for training programs in both dinghy and keelboat programs. They run an annual regatta in September, and you will also plan this event with the help of the committee. 

The Town 

Nhulunbuy is home to less than 4000 people. It is the service centre for nearby mining operations and the commercial base for the East Arnhem region. Road access to the town is only available by 4WD, QANTAS has a daily flight from Cairns and Darwin. Nhulunbuy is considered one of Australia’s last strongholds of traditional Aboriginal culture. It’s a laid-back, natural lifestyle with rugged landscape and white sandy beaches. Darwin Sailing Club

The Club

The Darwin Sailing Club is located on the foreshore in Fannie Bay. The club includes a licenced bar & bistro, beer garden, liveaboard facilities and a Training Academy. The Sailing Department is made up of Bosun, Sailing Officer, Training Officer, 2-3 x FT and numerous casual instructors 

The Role

The club is seeking seasonal instructors to work throughout the Dry Season (April-Oct). They have 24 x Ozi Optis, 6 x Pico & 3 x Elliott 7 that are utlised for training programs in both dinghy and keelboat programs. The Training Academy operates 7 days week and runs multiple programs for schools, private lessons, youth groups, youth diversion programs and accredited courses at two locations (Fannie Bay & Lake Alexander).

The Town 

Darwin has a population of 80,000. Situated in the far north the local community is very friendly and culturally diverse population due to its proximity to Asia. Markets, camping, fishing, outdoors & festivals are all a popular pastime of locals. Dry Season is high season with major events & festivals on most weekends.
