National Discover Sailing Day will be held on Sunday 27 October with clubs across the country making preparations to participate in this great initiative to open up sailing to their local community.

The aim of Discover Sailing Day is to encourage people to find out how much fun, safe, accessible and affordable sailing can be.

Anyone who has ever wanted to try sailing should put the date in their diary to enjoy a sail with their closest participating club. The club will provide all the instructors, boats and safety equipment, so all you have to do is come along prepared for a good time with a spare set of clothes, a hat and some sunscreen. People can attend the event by themselves, or with a partner, friends or family to get a taste of what sailing is all about.
