Cronulla Sailing Club Spring Fair

Published Wed 04 Sep 2019

Cronulla Sailing Club had great success at the Cronulla Spring Fair last weekend. Several boats such as the Tackers Optimist, Open Bic and an 18ft Skiff, which attracted lots of attention from the crowds.

The stand was managed well by all volunteers and they must be congratulated for giving up their time on the weekend to help raise attention to sailing and Cronulla Sailing Club.

Key organiser Bronwyn Elford, reported up to 60 people registering their interest wanting to try sailing from the Learn to Sail, crewing and junior sailing and signed up 2 x sailability members, 1 x adult and 1 x child members as a result from the weekend. The interest from the fair will enhance the participation and membership for the club and bring a greater awareness of the sport to the public.

A special thanks to Rag and Famish Hotel who sponsor the 18ft skiff for the boat to be rigged and presented by the crew at the fair. As the photo’s depict it was a great hit for the kids.

It was also covered by channel 9 news which was a bonus, bringing a wider spread awareness of our sport.

It is nice to have volunteers with enthusiasm get behind the club and make it a successful weekend.

Cronulla Sailing Club has just become a Discover Sailing Centre and will be running all the Australian Sailing Dinghy, Keelboat, Powerboat, Tackers and OutThere programs.

Cronulla Sailing Club is looking for more qualified instructors and coaches to help run the programs so if interested please contact the club accordingly.
