COVID-19 VIC Update: 6th December 2020

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced the further easing of restrictions in Victoria from 11.59pm on Sunday 6 December.

This is welcome news for the sport, recreation and racing community in Victoria and we look forward to collaborating with you on the continued return of physical recreation and community sport in the weeks ahead.
Victoria will move to a COVIDSafe Summer. A summary of restrictions as they impact physical recreation and community sport below:
Indoor physical recreation and community sport:
- Permitted for all ages
- No patron caps with a density quotient of 1 per 4sqm for each space.
- Gym and exercise classes limited to 50 people (excluding anyone necessary for running the class). COVID Marshals required when gyms are staffed.
- At times when gyms are unstaffed, a density quotient of 1 per 8 sqm applies.
- Signage must state the number of people permitted inside, wipes and disinfectant must be supplied for use by patrons, and record keeping is required and venues with capacity of greater than 500 patrons must publish a COVIDSafe Plan online.
Outdoor physical recreation and community sport:
- Permitted for all ages
- Up to a maximum of 100 patrons for outdoor fitness classes with a density quotient of 1 per 2sqm.
- Record keeping is required and venues with capacity of greater than 500 patrons must publish a COVIDSafe Plan online.
Pools, including swimming classes:
- Indoor venues open with a density quotient of 1 per 4 sqm.
- Outdoor pools open with a density quotient of 1 per 2 sqm.
- Record keeping is required.
Outdoor communal gym equipment: Open
Publicly accessible playgrounds: Open
The Industry Restart Guidelines for Physical Recreation and Community Sport are being updated and will be available at the Coronavirus Victoria website shortly.

We also remind you that the Victorian Government launched a new and free QR Code Service which will help venues and businesses to keep records of visitors. To use the service, you only need to register the venue or business, download and print a poster containing a Victorian Government QR Code, and display it prominently.
