Want to enjoy a fabulous sail on the pristine waters of Pittwater and Broken Bay! This is a race in two parts.

The first is sailing in Pittwater on the way to Barrenjoey Head. The second part is virtually an ocean crossing around Lion Island and back to Pittwater.

The start is also a fun "Le Mans" start, where all the skippers line up on land and run to your boat. This year it will be a long run with low tide at 12:06!

Briefing will be at 11:00. Start of the beach at 12:00.

Tides

Tides are important for a beach start. Here are the tide times and heights for the 5th May.

Low at 12:06pm 0.3m, High at 6:24pm 1.6. 

Food and Drink

The canteen will be open from 8:30 for:

• A variety of hot food, including bacon and egg rolls, pies, sausage rolls, mini quiches etc
• A selection of homemade cakes
• Selection of chocolate bars
• Tea and instant coffee at the club. Barista take-away Coffee is available at the Quays café/restaurant, less than 5 minutes walk away
• Soft drinks and water

There will also be a BBQ after the race. Cost is $15, which you can pay for at the club canteen. BYO alcohol. Soft drinks are available for purchase.

This event is organised by Bayview Yacht Racing Association (BYRA) to commemorate the premature death of one of its most promising young sailors, Peter Loft and to raise funds (via entry fees) for the Peter Loft Foundation which is established to assist youth members of BYRA participate in national and international sailing events.

Last year we helped to fund one of our talented youths to the IQ Worlds in Spain.

Entry Fee is:

$40 For a Skipper over 18 years old.
