Friday evening after work head down to Port Beach in North Fremantle for the start of the 72nd Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club’s Bunbury Return Race. At 5.30pm, 16 yachts will race down the coast, past Garden Island, Mandurah and into Koombana Beach just north of Bunbury before turn for home.

Craig Carter’s ‘Indian’ will be looking to repeat their record run from 2016 of 17h 42m 09s. The long-range forecast has a steadily building South-Westerly increasing to almost 30 knots into the late evening. This should make for an interesting finish as the back of the fleet get propelled first with the strengthening breeze.
