Australian Sailing Launches New Safety Hub

Published Wed 21 Dec 2022

In the lead up to the summer sailing season, Australian Sailing has launched a new online Safety Hub which combines practicality with accessibility.

All available resources relevant to both on and off-water sailing activities can now be easily accessed via the Safety Hub, making it easy for club personnel and sailors alike to ensure their safety practices are up to date.

The geography and climate of Australia are well suited for sailing, and it is a popular activity offering a healthy lifestyle choice. However, across the country’s waterways, the conditions can vary greatly and can change quickly from a calm day to life threatening.

Therefore, safety in all its aspects must feature as a high priority, not just for the sport of sailing itself, but for its volunteers, officials, clubs, and classes and their members. As one of Australian Sailing’s six Strategic Foundations from our 10-year Strategy “SAILING 2032”, we are committed to ensuring safety remains front-of-mind for anyone taking to the water.

The Safety Hub includes everything from Online Safety Induction resources to Major Incident Reports, all available to download or access for free.
