Australian Sailing Clubs Participation Promotion

Hamilton Island is an Official Partner and Major Co-Sponsor of the Australian Sailing Team, and they are offering accredited Discover Sailing Centres the chance to win one of three great travel and accommodation prizes.

Prizes
The prize packages include:
Hamilton Island Beach Club Hotel Prize:

  • One package of 5 nights’ accommodation at the Hamilton Island Beach Club Hotel for two people and a $200 travel voucher

Reef View Hotel Prize:

  • Two packages of two nights’ accommodation at the Reef View Hotel on Hamilton Island for two people and a $200 travel voucher

Competition
The competition rewards the accredited Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centres who deliver the greatest participation increase through their courses and experiences across the 2018/19 financial year.

To ensure all clubs, big and small, have the opportunity to compete in the competition we are rewarding clubs who achieve both the largest percentage growth (Prizes #1 and #3) and raw number growth (Prize #2) across the competition period.

The rules and prizes for the competition are as follows.

The top Discover Sailing Centres that had (as of 30th June 2019) the:

  1. Largest ‘Full course’ participants' percentage growth, which means all those courses that attract the $14.50 or $20 fee – Hamilton Island Beach Club Hotel - Prize #1

  2. Largest overall ‘full courses and experiences, intros, Sporting Schools’ participant number increase (all accredited courses) – Reef View Hotel Prize #2

  3. Largest participant percentage growth of Tackers full courses (not including Little Tackers, Tackers Intro or Sporting Schools courses) – Reef View Hotel Prize #3


Terms and Conditions:

  • Only open to Discover Sailing Centres who were accredited for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. 

  • Percentage growth can only be determined if at least 1% was marked as complete on the 2017/18 (withing the relevant quarter)

  •  In the event of a tie at the end of the competition, the winner will be decided based on most participant numbers in 2016/17 season.

  • Does not include any courses that are unaccredited or administered incorrectly on revSPORT. Please note that centres must ensure participants are marked as complete in revSPORT for them to be counted.
  • Does not include our accredited Safety & Sea Survival course.

  • Comparisons are based on 2017-18 financial year and 2018-19 financial year
