Alignment of accreditation dates for multi-qualification holders
Published Fri 01 Dec 2023
We recently changed how we recognise and support instructors and coaches who hold multiple accreditations. We hope the change described below reduces barriers cited by many instructors and coaches to remaining accredited in multiple sailing disciplines. The change enables a simpler process to reaccreditation and saves you time and costs associated in the 5 yearly reaccreditation process.
The change:
If you hold more than one accreditation, for example a Dinghy and Windsurf Instructor qualification, presently they’d expire on a different date. We are going to align all of your accreditations to a single expiry date. The new expiry date will be the date of the qualification expiring furthest in the future.
*Please note that if an accreditation has expired within the last 12months this will be included in the alignment. For any expired accreditations outside of 12 months, please see information here for Instructors & Coaches to reaccredit, or contact your Club Support Officer to book into a reaccreditation course.
What it means for you:
When it’s time to reaccredit by attending an assessment (once every 5 years), you will only need to attend one assessment course. You will not need to attend a course for each qualification you hold. Subject to the success of your assessment at a reaccreditation all qualifications will continue.
What you will see:
-
On your member profile all of your Instructor/Coach qualifications will expire on the same date;
-
All qualifications will be aligned to the expiry date. For example: If you attended a reaccreditation course for one of your qualifications in August 2023, your expiry for this qualification is August 2028 and all your other qualifications will also expire on this date too.
-
Expect the changes to be made by 31st October 2023.
