Published Fri 10 Nov 2023

As November begins, the 2023 ZHIK YOUTH SAIL SA Youth Championships approaches quickly. Welcoming Zhik to the Youth Sail Event as major sponsor.

The event will take place on the 25th and 26th of November at the Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club. Led by Brighton & Seacliff Youth Coordinator Ros Sayers, the team, along with Retiring Commodore Lisa Brock, are anticipating strong participation this year, with early entries shaping up to be one of the biggest Youth Champs in South Australia to date.

On the water, PRO Marcus Cooper will lead the team while mentoring up-and-coming national race officers Laura Hughson and Lisa Brock. The mentorship program by race officials in SA is continuing to build a very strong future for sailing in South Australia.

The Open Optimist is leading the charge of early entries, with the Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club hosting the Optimist State Championship in December 2023 and the 2024 Musto Australian Optimist Championship in January 2024.

The event will be a great lead into a busy summer in Adelaide, also hosting the 2024 Oceania & Australian Laser Open & Youth Championships at the Adelaide Sailing Club and the 2024 International 420 and 470 Australian Championships at Largs Bay Sailing Club.

This year's 2023 ZHIK YOUTH SAIL SA Youth Championships will also combine the International State Championships as a continued partnership.
