This years’ Instructor Conference was conducted by Australian Sailing’s Chris Jones, Ian Leeson and Laila Grafton along with local Senior Instructors Greg Brooks (Keelboat Instructor), Greg Rowlings (Dinghy Instructor), Scott Ragg (Powerboat Instructor), Jess Sabin (Dinghy Instructor) delivered the 2022 Tasmanian Instructor Conference.  

All the attendees were updated on the strategic priorities for Australian Sailing, Club Participation Programs and Coaching Programs, which then led into group practical sessions. The Senior Instructors designed session plans for the practical on-water skill development sessions with the goal of ensuring that all skills are taught to the highest standard, consistently, and safely in across all the Discover Sailing Programs.  

The Instructor Conference places a strong emphasis on improving your teaching abilities, having fun, and keeping Instructors informed about various aspects of the Discover Sailing Programs. An essential component of the Tasmanian sailing community are the Australian Sailing Instructors. AS encourage you to keep an eye out for the 2023 Instructor Conference. AS encourage all Instructors to come along, to make the most of these opportunities, ask questions, participate and revalidate your certificates!
