Australian Sailing Awards

Last week WA sailors and support staff took home some amazing silverware at the 2019 Australian Sailing Awards.
Nia Jerwood and Monique de Vries took out Female Sailor of the Year. In the past 12 months this Fremantle Sailing Club duo have qualified Australia for a place at the 2020 Olympic Games in the 470 Women’s Class. They also finished top ten overall in the World Championships and took home Silver in the World Cup Series earlier this year.
Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club own Debbie Blaauw also won the Australian Sailing Sports Professional award. This is awarded to an individual who has positively contributed to sailing in areas including instructing, coaching, officiating, management or administration.
