Sailing is calling for Expression of Interest (EOI) to join the Australian Sailing Performance Pathways Futures Program starting in April 2021.

Australian Sailing Futures/Fasttrack programs will focus on supporting and shaping athletes who are transitioning from Youth to Olympic classes and/or between Olympic classes.  We are looking for the best and brightest sailing athletes, with our sights set on developing them for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic games.

The Futures Program will encompass the Laser Std, Laser Radial, Windfoil, Mixed Kite Foil and Mixed 470 classes.  it will be run over 4 - 5 camps in various locations.

The 49er and 49er FX classes will be based in NSW it will be more intensely resources. We are already operating a pilot program in the Nacra 17 class. We will be looking at fortnight long camps in a Lake Macquarie venue, at around 4 - 5 camps per year.

Together, these programs will offer high quality individual coaching in camp based formats.  They will be rigorously educated and tested, to develop them towards working in squads and the trials of campaign life..  There will be a time and personal expense commitment required for entry into these programs and we look forward to engaging with highly motivated athletes, who want to pursue the Olympic dream.

The EOI closes on the 19 February 2021 COB ADST @ 1700 hrs (now extended to the 21 February @ 1700 hrs). Once the EOI is closed an interview time with being offered to each sailor with the Australian Sailing Futures athletes invited and if successfully selected and notified by the first week of  March 2021.  If successfully athletes will be expected to attend the first camp to be held on the 19 - 23 April, if athletes are unable to attend due to Covid-19 travel restrictions we shall move the Australian Sailing Futures to a Webinar.
